FTP Screenshot Uploader in AIR

shAirUp is an AIR application that uploads your screenshot to a ftp server of your choice
I’ve been working on this a few month back, now I’ve finally found the time to finish it.

The application is cross-platform, with OS specific options for notification when the upload is done.


How does it work?

1) Detection

• • On Unix (Mac & Linux) : scans for .png’s in the options specified folder (Default: desktop)
• • On Windows : scans for new bitmapdata in the clipboard

2) Generates an unique filename, based on the SHA1 algorithm
3) Uploads the file through FTP*
4) Notifies you in the way you selected & copies the link to the file into your clipboard so you can share it with everyone you want.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: FOR NOW SHAIRUP IS ONLY SUPPORTING PASSIVE MODE TO UPLOAD

Configuration

For the configuration you can use the second picture as a guide.
Some further explanation & tips :

• • FOLDER TO UPLOAD IN : the folder where the screenshots should be uploaded in on your server, seen from where the specified ftp account logs in.
• 
  • It’s highly recommended that you create a new ftp account for this application and give it only access to the folder where the screenshots should be upload in, that is not only a safer option, you also don’t have to fill in the “FOLDER TO UPLOAD IN”
